Sri GVG Visalakshi College for Women was the first college in the district of Tiruppur established in1952 exclusively for Women empowerment by the Philanthrophic founder Shri G.V.Govindaswamy Naidu. Throughout the educational stride from 1952 till date the institution has fostered the women empowerment with modernity yet embracing the culture.

                     Our institution primarily focuses on providing inclusive and holistic education integrating Intellectual, Social, Physical, and Moral education. The college has been sought for its academic rigour and learner centric best practices facilitated by 25 years of autonomy. Our institution has a proven growth oriented academic track. Today the college has the distinction of award from NAAC as A+, more specifically it is one among very few colleges with A+ grade at National level. The grading has enabled the UGC to recognize our college as a Mentor under UGC Paramarsh Scheme. Six colleges are mentored under the Paramarsh Scheme.

                     The curriculum is designed to offer technology based integrated and inclusive education in association with the global educational partner, the IBM and the National ICT Academy. Skill Oriented components provide a spectrum of choice to the students to hone their special skills. Value Added Courses provide a rich supplement to make the students industry ready and to groom them into successful Entrepreneurs. The Academic ambience, with DST, DBT, IBM, REDHAT Academy, ICT Academy etc., nurtures the students to showcase the multitude of their talents through internships, hands on training and experiential learning.

                     The Diploma Programme in Child Care and Creche Management has enabled the students to run day care centres. Mentoring and student enrichment programmes play a pivotal role in supporting and strengthening the confidence level of the students. Sports and Physical Education keep the student physically and mentally fit thus enhancing their overall performances. Womens’ study centre enables imbibes the women’s sense of self-worth among students. It also inculcates the Womens’ power to regulate and control their own lives, within and outside the home.
