YRC Activities for the year 2017-2018

The youth Red Cross commenced its activities with the union inauguration. Nearly 220 students from the first year enrolled themselves in the YRC.
Orientation was given to the YRC students on the following topics on 25.07.2017
Mrs.S.Umadevi, YRC Programme Officer, Assistant Professor of Chemistry gave a speech on general objectives and history of YRC
Co-opted members of YRC Dr.(Ms.) P. Deivakani, Assistant Professor of History and Mrs.R.Anbuselvi, Assistant Professor of BBA, gave a special talk on the principles of YRC.
The YRC volunteers engaged in seating arrangement activities at the time of college events in GVG auditorium.
YRC volunteers of our college participated in a rally to create awareness among the people regarding Dengue fever and preventive measures on 20.07.2017.
Our YRC students, from 24.07.2017 to 28.07.2017 underwent door to door canvas with placards and pamphlets containing information about Aedes mosquitoes, which transmit the virus that causes Dengue fever. This was to create awareness on dengue fever and its preventive measures.
YRC in association with Red ribbon club (RRC) conducted special meetings on the following topics Awareness on I) Eye Donation II) Blood donation III) Aid’s awareness IV) First aid activities V) Traffic rules and safety measures.

YRC Activities for the year 2016-2017

The youth Red Cross commenced its activities with the union inauguration. Nearly 190 students in the first year enrolled themselves in the YRC
Dr. S. Bhuvaneshwari, YRC Programme Officer, Assistant professor of Commerce gave a special speech to our YRC Volunteers on General objective of YRC.
YRC organized a programme on “Safety tips” on 31.08.2016. Nearly 280 YRC Volunteers are benefited.
On 11.09.2016 YRC volunteers around 20 students are participated to distribute old clothes to tribal people at Pushpathur near Palani and Manalthittu near Kolumam.
On 22.09.2016 NSS and YRC organized Disaster management training programme. 250 YRC volunteers are benefited.
On 14.2.2017 to create awareness to general public the YRC conducted a rally on Cancer awareness and around 250 students were participated.
One of our YRC Volunteers A.M. Iswarya, II BA Eng (Aided) participated in three days Zonal Level Orientation training programme at Bharathiar University from 24.3.2017 to 26.3.2017.

YRC Activities for the year 2015-2016

Dr. S. Bhuvaneswari, YRC Programme officer, Assistant Professor of Commerce gave a special speech to the YRC volunteers on personality development.
Dr. P. Siranjeevi, Assistant Professor of History, co-opted member, created awareness on Blood donation.
T. Chitraselvi, Assistant Professor of History, Co-opted member, gave a special speech on environment cleanliness.
On 26-06-2015, the YRC conducted a rally against “Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking”. Around 250 students participated in it.
YRC organized a programme on “Disaster Management” on 02-03-2016 and the YRC volunteers were benefitted through this programme.
Two of our YRC volunteers J. Iswarya and P. Girija, II year B.Com (aided), participated in the three days zonal level orientation training programme which was held at Bharathiar University from 28-03-2016 to 30-03-2016.

The Youth Red Cross commenced its activities with the union inauguration. Nearly 265 students from the first year enrolled themselves in the YRC.
Orientation was given to the YRC students on the following topics:
Dr. S. Bhuvaneshwari, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, gave a special lecture on the objectives of YRC.
Dr. P. Siranjeevi, Assistant Professor, Department of History gave a special talk on principles of YRC on 17-08-2014.
YRC volunteers presented special lecture on the following topics in various occasions Women education, Cancer awareness, Importance of Blood donation
YRC students and volunteers participated in National Voter’s Day rally on 23-01-2015
YRC students participated the following activities in the college campus
i)Arranging books in the library ii)Regular cleaning of the college campus
YRC conducted a special programme on First Aid Training by St. Jahn Ambulance , Trichy on 24th February 2015 at Sri GVG Visalakshi college for women, Udumalpet. 102 of YRC students participated in the training programme.
First Aid Training programme was organized by the Tamilnadu government on 16-03-2015. 140 YRC volunteers participated in this programme and benefitted from it.
Blood donation camp was conducted on 30-0-2014 at Sri GVG Visalakshi College for Women. YRC volunteers participated and donated blood.

R. Vanamadevi, Programme Officer, YRC, gave a speech on general objectives of YRC and history of YRC in worldwide and India on 26.07.2013
Ms. K. Sangeetha, co-opted member of YRC, gave a special talk on the principles of YRC.
A Blood donor’s directory was created for the year 2013-14.
YRC volunteers were engaged in regular campus cleaning activities and in arranging the books in the library.
YRC students presented the special lectures on the following topics during various occasions I) Cancer awareness II) Yoga and Meditation III) Blood donation
YRC conducted a special programme on Cancer awareness on 11-03-2013 in our college assembly hall from 1.30pm to 3.30 pm
R. Sathyadevi and M. Iyshwarya of II B.Sc Computer Science attended 3 days zonal level orientation programme organized by YRC, Bharathiar University from 12-03-2014 to 14-03-2014 at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore campus.
YRC conducted “First Aid Training Programme” on 27-03-2014 in association with St. John Ambulance, Madurai, Mr. S. Clement Benebert Raj gave a special lecture and demo for the first aid programme. 113 students participated in the training programme and received certificates. The programme was held at GVG College Assembly Hall.
