Entrepreneurship is a global phenomenon and the awareness towards entrepreneurship is going on at a quicker pace in India. To foster the change in the thought process of the youth, ED Cell has been actively functioning to identify and groom potential entrepreneurs among students.
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell was established in our institution in December 2013 with the financial assistance of Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Government of Tamil Nadu to the tune of Rs. 1.0 lakh. The ED Cell had its formal inauguration on 16.12.2013.

The EDI, Chennai in collaboration with Wadhwani Foundation – National Entrepreneurship Network (WF-NEN) is organizing a certificate course on ONLINE ENTREPRENEURSHIP LEARNING with modules spread over six semesters.
On 23rd October 2017, 41 students in two batches (20+21) registered https://goo.gl/forms/VnVYKwVysJrSe4fm2 for the Learnwise WF 100 – Orientation Program in Entrepreneurship an online course offered by Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute-TN, Government of Tamil Nadu, Wadhwani Foundation and National Entrepreneurship Network. These students who took up the Orientation Program will take up the next course – Basic Program in Entrepreneurship (WF101)
The second batch of students - Two batches (24 and 23 respectively) registered for the WF 100 course on 23rd January, 2018.
The Co-ordinators of the program are Dr. P. Geetha, Associate Professor of Economics and Mrs. PL. Amirtham, Assistant Professor of BBA (CA).

15.09.2016 to 17.09.2016 - ED Programme - Phase II for 26 students conducted in association with Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI), Chennai for three days from. Mr. C. Viswanathan, Consultant & Former Director, EDI, Chennai was the Resource Person.
23.09.2016 - One day workshop on Silk thread Jewellery Making for 102 students of B. Com SF and B. Com (E-com) and B. Com (Aided) was conducted on. Mrs. Revathy was the trainer.
04.01.2017 to 06.01.2017 - Dr. P. Geetha, ED Coordinator and Mrs. P. Amitham, Assistant Professor of BBA (CA) attended the Three Day Faculty Development Programme at Anna University Regional Campus Coimbatore from organised by the with Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) Chennai and ED Cell, Anna University Regional Campus. Coimbatore.
08.02.2017 – Three Students of III BBA CA – Mrs. Ushadevi, T, Tharani and Subashini attended the WEBINAR on Regional Startup Activation Program (R-SAP) organized by EDI, Chennai, KCT and FORGE Accelerator for upcoming Entrepreneurs at Anna University Regional Campus Coimbatore.
15.02.2017 – 24 students attended the National Level Seminar on “Emerging Trends and Scopes in Boutique Management and Fashion Business” organised by NIFT-TEA College of Knitwear Fashion, Tirupur.
Forty first year students from all the departments enrolled for the certificate course - ONLINE ENTREPRENEURSHIP LEARNING offered by the EDI, Chennai in collaboration with Wadhwani Foundation – National Entrepreneurship Network (WF-NEN). 27 students cleared the WF100 - Orientation Program in Entrepreneurship.
14.07.2015 to 20.07.2015 – ICTACT Entrepreneurship Development Programme – Phase II - 60 students were identified from Phase I for intensive training. The resource persons were Dr. Rosy Fernando and Dr. J. Vasanthakumari, ED Consultants and Trainers, Winners Zone, Chennai; Mr. R. Ravikumar, SWOT Venture, Udumalpet and Mrs. Manjula, CEO, Décor and Design, Udumalpet.
21.07.2015 – Online test for the select 60 students and 20 were shortlisted to submit business proposal to ICTACT, Chennai. Two students were selected for Advanced Training.
31.07.2015 – Mehandi Mela – Thirty designers were involved and more than 200 students got their hands decorated.
05.08.2015 7& 02.09.2015 – Domestic Sales Programme was conducted to provide opportunity to the students to showcase their entrepreneurial abilities.
05.03.2016 – One Day training programme on Chocolate Art by Dr. B. Manivannan, Head, Department of Catering and Hotel Management, Hindustan College of Arts & Science, Coimbatore.
10.03.2016 – Terracotta jewelery making was conducted for the public by Mrs. Gowri.
16.03.2016 & 17.03.2016 - Two students – Ms. B. Sambavi, II B.Com (SF) and Ms K. Ushadevi, II BBA attended Phase III – State Level Advanced Training at Coimbatore.
Spiral machines have been purchased and the spiral binding for all the students is taken up by the ED Cell.
26.08.2014 and 27.08.2014 – Organised Two Days Workshop on “Use of SPSS Package for Data Analysis”. 74 students attended the workshop. Mr. S. Azarudheen and Mr. E. Vivian Clemtz, from Department of Statistics, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore taught the intricacies of data entry and data analysis.
28.08.2014 - Dr. B. Vanitha, Associate Professor of Economics, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore explained with case studies about Project report Preparation and the job opportunities in data entry.
16.09.2014 to 20.09.2014 71 students were trained in making Artificial Jewellery. Mrs. M. Gowri, Proprietor, Sadhana’s Exclusive Ladies Garments and Designers, Udumalpet gave demonstration and hands on training on Teracotta Jewellery.
Mrs. C. Gunavathy from Sivakasi taught Paper Quilling for the above set of students. The creations of the students were exhibited during the Fine Arts Week Celebrations of the College and received orders for the same from the same and general public. 25.10.2014 to 29.10.2014.
The art of painting in dresses and glass was given by Mrs. M. Gowri to 34 students. The traditional handicraft of basket making was also taught to 46 students. 21.11.2014 to 25.11.2014 and 26.11.2014 to 30.11.2014.
Beautician Course by Mrs. Parvathi and Mrs. Vasanthi for 28 students and 26 students respectively - Threading, facial, hair care, hair cut & hair styling, makeup, garland making and flower tying were taught to the students. 13.12.2014, 19.12.2014, 20.12.2014 and 23.12.2014.
Organic farming training was orgainsed in the campus through Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore on Dr. P. Shanthi, Professor of Agronomy, TNAU, Coimbatore provided training to 61students.
28.01.2015 - Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp – Phase I - in association with Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI) Chennai and ICTACT. Mr. I. Stalin Jacob, Head, Academics, Native Lead Foundation, Madurai. 300 students benefited by the programme.
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell was established in our institution in December 2013 with the approval of Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Government of Tamil Nadu and a sum of Rs. 1.0 lakh financial assistance was granted.
The ED Cell had its inauguration on 16.12.2013.
